It's
quite common to see recommendations for golf fitness programs to
include significant levels of long, slow distance aerobic exercise
(LSD).An example of LSD would be getting on a treadmill and walking for an extended period of time such as 30 minutes or more. From
a performance perspective and a golf fitness perspective (remember
we're talking about a specific type of fitness), this couldn?t be more
wrong.

In golf, I see many injuries occur due to imbalances
in flexibility or range of motion with resultant
compensation in the swing, often changing the swing
mechanics. In some cases this can steepen the
swing and create higher spine forces or create
excessive rotation and place additional stress on the
discs. Due to the repetitive nature of golf, it is
important to be in top physical shape or eventually
you will experience some form of an injury (likely a
disc problem).

Credit goes to www.yourgolffitnesscoach.com With the warm weather approaching, most golfers start to turn their attention toward the links. Now is the time to incorporate not only your new strength and flexibility routine, but also the results of your hard work during the winter. Fitness cannot be stored, so please continue your program even if you decrease the time you do it.
